You will play a critical role in developing and implementing value-adding hydrogeological solutions, ensuring best-practice methodologies across the mining value chainfrom life-of-mine studies to operational troubleshooting. This role can be based in any location where Gold Fields operates, offering flexibility for the right candidate. Your Impact Provide a technical service to the operations through the optimisation of hydrogeological systems including improvements to hydrogeological standards, guidelines and QAQC, while ensuring all hydrogeological risks are identified, evaluated and appropriately controlled. Participate in projects requiring hydrogeological inputs to optimise mine design. Ensure quality assurance and quality control programs are maintained. Update Group standards and procedures related to hydrogeological monitoring as required, ensuring standardisation across the Group. Provide guidance to the technical services teams across the group and ensure that adequate hydrogeological consideration is captured in all aspects of mine design, planning and scheduling including short, mid, and longer-term projects. Collaborate with key mining and mine planning personnel to trouble shoot hydrogeological challenges within the operations. Assist in the training and development of geotechnical and mining engineers on the various functions of hydrogeological management in the operations, including the upskilling of the workforce in mine hydrogeological practices. Actively seek out new technologies, systems, and practices to improve on the current practices including innovative solutions to ensure Gold Fields adheres to industry best practice. Your Experience A bachelor''s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geochemistry, or Environmental Science Extensive experience in hydrogeological management, preferably including senior-level roles at active mine sites Demonstrated experience in project, cost, and contractor management A strong understanding of mining regulations and industry standards A valid manual driver''s licence Applications can be submitted via: Gold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
