We are looking for a permanent parttime Maintenance Officer to join our SCC family at Carinya Residential Aged Care Home, Miles, Queensland. About the role In this important role, you will assist the Managers to ensure general maintenance work around the home and grounds is carried out in alignment with scheduled programmes and attend to any necessary repairs. A friendly, sociable personality coupled with empathy and compassion for the elderly will make you a perfect fit for this position. Responsibilities Provide assistance to residents and the site with basic support during movein periods and ongoing general maintenance duties. Ensure communal areas are tidy and maintained to support resident activities. Assist with light furniture movements when required. Maintain uptodate inventory of all equipment on an electronic system. Develop a programme of preventative maintenance for all equipment. Coordinate external contractors to attend servicing requirements for equipment requiring external servicing. Handle horticultural and grounds development, maintenance and monitoring. Garden and grounds maintenance including mowing, hedging, pruning, weeding, edging. Other maintenance/gardening duties as required. Qualifications Maintenance and/or Trade qualification (desirable). Previous experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance. Experience managing contractor relationships is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to work from manuals and drawings. Demonstrated problemsolving and a can do attitude. Exceptional people and interpersonal skills. Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills. Strong decisionmaking and timemanagement skills. Ability to work as part of a team but also be capable of working autonomously.
