Positions VacantPermanent PositionsCommencing 20 January 20262 x Parttime, Termtime roles, up to 20.5 hours/week each (Job Share)Occasional additional hours during School Holidays as required Position Summary Under the direction of the School Nurse (P12), the Health Hub Assistant provides highquality administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth, efficient, and professional running of the School Health Hub. The role assists with the coordination of health services, maintains accurate and confidential health records, supports compliance with health and safety requirements, and acts as a first point of contact for students, staff, and parents seeking healthrelated assistance. This role contributes to the overall health and wellbeing of the School community by enabling the School Nurse to focus on clinical care and health promotion activities. Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated administrative and organisational skills Ability to maintain accurate, confidential health records, manage schedules, and support compliance with health and safety requirements, ensuring smooth operation of the Health Hub. SC2: Effective interpersonal and communication skills Proven capacity to interact professionally and sensitively with students, staff, and parents, providing clear guidance and support for healthrelated matters while maintaining confidentiality and empathy. Position Responsibilities Key responsibilities may be modified occasionally to ensure the expected outcomes are coordinated with the Schools Strategic Plan. The primary responsibilities include: Administration and Coordination: Provide daytoday administrative support to the School Nurse, including scheduling appointments, maintaining health centre calendars, and coordinating healthrelated events and programs (e.g., class presentations). Maintain student and staff health records in accordance with privacy, confidentiality, and legal requirements. Prepare medical documentation for excursions, camps, cultural and sporting events, ensuring that all medical action plans and medication requirements are up to date. Monitor and maintain inventory of first aid and medical supplies, ordering and restocking as required. Assist with budget preparation for health hub operations and medical resources. Support the reporting and followup of accident, incident, emergency and first aid records. Reception and Customer Service: Act as the first point of contact for students, staff, and parents attending the Health Hub, providing a calm and professional presence. Respond to enquiries in a timely and compassionate manner, escalating medical concerns to the School Nurse when required. Liaise with staff and parents to communicate relevant health information under the direction of the School Nurse. Support the safe signin/signout process for students leaving school due to illness. Operational Support: Assist the School Nurse in the coordination and logistics of health and wellness initiatives. Support the administration of medications under the supervision of the School Nurse and in accordance with School policy. Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the Health Hub to ensure a welcoming, professional environment. Support risk management strategies, ensuring preparedness of first aid kits for classrooms, buses, excursions, and camps. Education / Experience / Professional Qualifications Essential: Experience in office administration, reception, or customer service roles, preferably in a school or healthcare environment. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks. High level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in recordkeeping. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment. Proficiency in Google Suite and ability to learn School database systems. Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates. Desirable: Experience supporting a health professional or managing medical records. Strong understanding of child and adolescent health, including mental health and chronic illness management. Experience in health education and promotion. Familiarity with school health policies and procedures. Medical knowledge/experience. Managing competing priorities and remaining calm during highdemand periods or medical incidents. Physical Capabilities Ability to assist in physically supporting unwell or injured students when required (within safe handling limits). Capacity to move around the School site, deliver supplies, and attend offsite health appointments if needed. General Terms of Appointment Support the Anglican ethos of the School.
