The multidisciplinary teams at headspace Shellharbour and Kiama work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people. We are a purposebased communitybased organisation that provides high quality health services to assist people in the management of their physical and mental health. GPHs mission is to provide equitable health care with an emphasis on helping vulnerable and atrisk populations as well as regional communities. About the Position The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with a young person and their family to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. The clinician will provide high quality psychosocial assessment and evidencebased, focused psychological interventions to young people aged 12 to 25 referred to headspace Shellharbour and Kiama. This position requires working closely with the other members of the headspace Shellharbour and Kiama teams and external service providers to maximise care outcomes for young people referred to headspace Shellharbour and Kiama, while fostering a culture of youthfriendly, socially and culturally inclusive service experience for young people. This position is based across our headspace Shellharbour and Kiama hubs, available as a fulltime opportunity, fixed term until 30June2026 with possibility for extension. Parttime hours will be considered with 3 days available at headspace Kiama and/or 2 days at headspace Shellharbour. We are looking for someone with: Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, or Occupational Therapist (accredited in mental health) or qualifications in social work and has (or willing to work towards) accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health Social Worker or Clinical Registration with PACFA or the ACA (min Level3). Experience in assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, provision of CognitiveBehaviour Therapy and other evidencebased focused psychological strategies. Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.
