Your Role As the Team Leader in Blayney, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a therapeutic residential care home. In this leadership role, you will manage and support a team of Therapeutic Support Workers, working directly with young people who have experienced complex trauma and may live with disability. You will collaborate closely with clinical teams to deliver safe, structured, and nurturing care in line with CareSouths Therapeutic Care model. This is a frontline leadership position that requires strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and a deep commitment to creating meaningful and lasting change in the lives of vulnerable young people. What is ITC? Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) is a specialised service system delivered under the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). The model supports children and young people who are unable to receive needed supports in foster care or require specialised and intensive supports to maintain stability in their care arrangements. Complex mental health, intellectual and physical disability, emotional and behavioural issues are characteristics of these children and young people, resulting in behaviours that often present a risk to themselves and others in their immediate environment. The goals of the ITC program include but are not limited to: Provide a safe, home-like environment for 1218-year-olds. Have a strong focus on healing from trauma. Build life skills and connections for young people. Give young people as many chances as it takes to get it right. What you need to be successful in your role A relevant Bachelors degree, or relevant diploma working towards a Bachelors degree, or a Diploma in Community Services or related Diploma is acceptable, with experience and understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic care. Strong understanding of ITC, child protection frameworks, and trauma-informed care. Strong administration, risk management, and compliance capability. Demonstrated ability to coach staff, manage complex behaviours, and build trusting relationships with children and young. What we can offer you We believe in taking care of our team.
