About Your Opportunity In this pivotal role, youll take the lead as our technical expert, delivering insightful recommendations on water efficiency and identifying reliable ways to reduce demand across South East Queenslandespecially in times of drought. Youll thrive in an autonomous environment, analysing complex data and crafting tailored solutions from start to finish. Using your experience with both national and global benchmarks, youll shape innovative strategies and influence the broader direction of our water management initiatives, including having key input into the development of Seqwaters Water Security Program Collaboration is at the heart of what you do. Youll partner closely with SEQ Retailer Customers, government agencies and industry stakeholders to uncover practical opportunities, helping to coordinate a unified and effective approach to water reductions and restrictions. Your expertise will also ensure our stakeholders have access to clear, accurate, and actionable dataempowering them to make informed decisions and drive positive outcomes for our community. Key Responsibilities Develop and design studies which will accurately discover the data required to project future water demands for both residential and non-residential South East Queensland Conduct demand studies, interrogate data and recognise trends, identify and conduct further research required to quantify future demand problems Use technical judgement and expertise to provide a comprehensive understanding of potential problems, feeding this information into Seqwater strategic goals Provide technical expert advice to prioritise problems to be addressed in Seqwater future water demand Based on data discovery and prioritisation, conduct further research and discovery to provide Technical engineering advice on solutions, to influence and inform water strategy and understanding of water balance within Seqwater About You Bachelor degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Process, or Mechanical) 7-12 years experience in engineering in the water sector is required. Demonstrated responsibility with data analysis is essential and specialist water efficiency knowledge is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail is essential. Experience in project management of consultancies relating to water efficiency or water planning and managing customers and stakeholders is preferred. This position will be offered with a competitive salary and is a permanent full time role.
