Position Overview As an External Sales Representative, your primary focus is identifying, engaging, and visiting new customers within Australias mining, minerals, oil & gas, health, energy, and other sectors. You will showcase our test and calibration equipment via product demonstrations, building relationships, and closing deals. A selfdriven individual with strong sales acumen and an understanding of target industries is essential. Passion for technology and industrial tooling is an advantage. Core Responsibilities and Duties Identify and target potential customers in mining, minerals, oil & gas, manufacturers, health, and energy sectors. Utilise various prospecting techniques such as reaching out to existing customers, cold calling, networking, referrals, and attending industry events to generate new sales leads. Develop a robust pipeline of potential customers and manage the sales process from lead generation to closure. Establish strong relationships with key decisionmakers and influencers within targeted industries and existing customers. Conduct inperson visits to potential customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. Deliver compelling product demonstrations to showcase our test and calibration equipments features, benefits, and applications. Work with the sales team to develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate new markets and increase market share. Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective customers. Negotiate pricing and contractual terms to secure profitable sales agreements. Collaborate closely with the internal sales and technical sales team where required. Work with the sales admin team to ensure smooth order processing, delivery, and aftersales support. Provide regular updates on sales activities, customer feedback, and market trends to the sales management team. Maintain accurate and uptodate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities in the CRM system. Requirements Proven track record of successful external sales experience in a B2B environment, preferably selling industrial equipment or related products. Ability to research and find new customers, make cold calls, visit new customers, and discuss their requirements. Excellent prospecting and lead generation skills, with the ability to identify and target potential customers within mining, minerals, oil & gas, manufacturers, health, and energy sectors. Strong presentation and product demonstration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and benefits to diverse audiences. Proactive and selfmotivated, able to work independently and meet sales targets. Excellent negotiation and closing skills, focusing on driving revenue growth. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and timemanagement skills. Availability and willingness to travel to all major cities, towns, and regional parts of Australia, visit customers, and attend industry events. Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads, track sales activities, and generate reports. It will be advantageous if you have Electrical/Instrumentation background, whether trade or engineering. Understanding of test and calibration equipment, its applications and importance in mining, minerals, oil & gas, manufacturers, health, and energy industries. Experience selling or working with process instrumentation and test & calibration equipment.
