About the role NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services. We are seeking two Project Managers - Site Surveillance Officers to work within the NSWPW project delivery team on the Moree Plains Shire Council Flood Recovery Road Repair Program. You will be conducting site surveillance activities and supporting the project management team. The role will be part of a delivery team overseen by the NSWPW Program Manager that includes Project Managers, Contract Administrators and Site Surveillance team members. The role is based in Moree with regular travel around the Moree Plains Shire Council local government area. About You - Responsibilities Conduct site surveillance of contract road and drainage construction work. Conduct safety, environmental and quality inspections to NSWPW guidelines and checklists. Monitor and ensure that the Contractor is adhering to their systems. Monitor progress of works onsite. Act as the NSWPW onsite presence. Conduct minor contract administration tasks (support to contract administrator). Collate works completion evidence including site photos for inclusion in Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements progress claims. About You Key Attributes Experience in road construction and construction in a reactive soil (black soil) environment. Ability to read and understand contractual and technical documents and to interpret design drawings. Ability to work autonomously on remote sites with regular weekly checkins with Program Manager and delivery team. Strength and confidence to speak with the Contractor about issues requiring attention. Good judgement and an understanding of the appropriate time to escalates issues. Hold a current NSW Driver Licence.
