Reporting to the Bulk Haulage Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and productive operation of Front End loaders to load road trains, maintain ROM pads, and support coal handling operations across site.This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a professional mining team that values safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely and efficiently operate Front End Loaders (Cat 980-988, Hitachi Z550, Komatsu WA900) to load B-Double road trains and manage stockpilesConduct pre-start inspections and complete required production and safety documentationMaintain ROM pads, stockpiles and haul roads to required standardsWork closely with road train operators and dozer operators to ensure consistent material flowFollow mine plans and daily production schedulesIdentify and report hazards, equipment faults and near missesContribute to a strong safety culture and team performanceAbout youDemonstrated experience operating large Front End Loaders in a mining environmentExperience loading trucks to correct weights per trailer, using bucket weightometers (loadrite or similar)Current RII or equivalent competency for Front End Loader operationCommitment to safety, teamwork, and achieving production targetsAbility to work in a rostered, site-based environment (day and night shifts)Ability to meet site medical and drug/alcohol screening requirementsWhat Thiess can do for youPermanent, full-time positions with a leading mining contractorCompetitive pay rates and allowances7/7 rosterCamp accommodation and meals providedOngoing training and career development opportunitiesSupportive, inclusive team culture focused on safety and respectAbout usThiess works with clients in Australia, Asia and the Americas in the dynamic field of open-cut and underground mining.The pioneering spirit of our founders the legendary Thiess brothers is our legacy, and inspires our vision to harness the power of people and technology to drive sustainable change.At Thiess, you will have the opportunity to play a part in the global energy transition.
