Fitter Defence at Ventia Location: Wallangarra, QLD just north of Tenterfield, NSW. Role based at Wallangarra, QLD. Fulltime role working 38 hours per week Monday to Friday. Finish at 12 pm on Fridays! Relocation assistance and onsite parking available. Training & upskilling provided. Salary: $38.71 per hour plus super. About the Role As a Fitter you will use your highly detailed workmanship to inspect, repair, and recondition military hardware. As a qualified Fitter you will provide direct embedded support and teamwork with Defence and Defence training activities to ensure hardware is functional and training objectives are achieved. Perform maintenance, servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on military equipment, hardware and Defence armaments. Safely operate machinery to repair, manufacture or modify required parts. Certify plant and equipment as serviceable and fit for purpose. Provide occasional support to various Defence Bases across the state assisting with Armory maintenance. All travel, accommodation and food paid for. About You Possess a Trade Certificate III Mechanical Fitting. High Risk Forklift Licence required. Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence. MR or HR Licence desirable. High Risk Dogging & Rigging, Overhead Crane, and Confined Space Entry highly regarded, or willingness to obtain. Physically fit and enjoy handson work. You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
