Your Role An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Marist College, Emerald, in the position of Facilities Officer (Gardens, Grounds and Maintenance). This is a full-time continuing position for 38hpw, commencing as soon as able or part-time (minimum of 15 hours) as negotiated with the successful applicant. Reporting to the Principal, this role performs daily grounds and maintenance tasks including minor repairs and maintenance of school building and surrounds, gardening and grounds beautification and various other tasks as required. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Securing grounds and equipment keeping our school safe Mowing, trimming and fertilising lawns and turf areas Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems Weeding, planting and fertilising gardens Outdoor cleaning and use of high-pressure water cleaner Identify and assist with minor building maintenance e.g., touch up painting and other minor repairs. Assembling, moving, and relocating furniture Assisting with the setup of spaces for school events Gardening and general caretaking of school buildings and gardens Working with other grounds staff, as required Rubbish and waste management Working with contractors to oversee major repairs and maintenance About You The successful applicant will have relevant experience and an understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic Education. In addition, you will have excellent time management skills and well developed interpersonal skills.
