Facilitator - Women''s Peer Support Programs About Us At Cancer Council Queensland, our mission is simple to ensure no Queenslander is left navigating cancer alone. We provide support to everyone impacted by cancer and improve the quality of life for all Queenslanders facing a diagnosis. We work in three key areas: cancer research, cancer prevention and early detection, and cancer support services. About The Role The Womens Connect Program, proudly funded by Queensland Health, brings Queensland women and nonbinary people together to connect with others who have a deep understanding of what its like to live with cancer. As Facilitator, you will be responsible for establishing, developing and facilitating the Womens Connect program pilot, cofacilitating group and peerled psychosocial supports and assisting our Research and Internal Project Team with the codesign and evaluation of the program. You will ensure that the program is accessible, culturally safe and responsive to the diverse needs and lived experiences of priority populations, including: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds LGBTQIA+ people People with disability People living in regional, rural and remote communities This role is a permanent parttime position (22 hours per week, negotiable) and can be based in Cairns, Townsville, Toowoomba or Brisbane. About You To be successful, the following qualifications and skills are essential: Qualifications in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Allied Health, Community services or a related field. Experience in working closely with people and communities affected by cancer. Experience in group facilitation, with strong interpersonal and conflictresolution skills and proven ability to lead inclusive discussions. Holding a current Queensland Drivers Licence (preferred if travel required). The following are welcomed but not essential: An understanding of peer work, how to use lived experience appropriately, and experience in coordinating and facilitating community peer support programs. Experience in program development, including needs analysis, stakeholder engagement and program evaluation. A lived experience with cancer and willingness to share appropriately.
