About you Your key duties and tasks Pre-start talks to share the activities and safety aspects of what lies ahead for the day Work with the Station Manager to carry out livestock activities Lead and provide direction, supervision and training to the station hands (stock camp) across all livestock program activities (mustering, drafting, processing and trucking). Low stress livestock handling techniques and promote and manage best practice animal welfare for our animals Experience mustering on horse back and on a two wheel motorbike Record cattle numbers and maintain accurate livestock records Perform fence maintenance - straining fences, welding and general repairs Assist with vehicle and machinery maintenance and repairs (changing oil, tyres) and prestart checks What you will need Ability to step up into an energetic role Team player who is ready to work with the rest of the station team to achieve common goals A genuine interest in remote cattle station life Enjoy training and supervising your stock camp Proven horse riding and handling ability Proven skills in cattle handling, processing and mustering Current and valid drivers licence (manual) Experienced Leading Hands who are looking to step up are welcome to apply for this role. Regularly sharing and learning with the other CPC Junior Managers Continuous on-the-job training Salary paid according to skill level Nutritious, wholesome, and healthy meals and food provided in the station kitchen Single air-conditioned accommodation with ensuite and shared facilities (laundry) Fare reimbursement to the station (after probation) Many of our stock camp team "camp out" when away from the station so we need you to be able to lead our livestock program which includes supervising your team and ensuring that all activities are carried out smoothly and efficiently when out on "camp" away from the station. And you''ll have the full support of our friendly team. Physical Demands This is a physically demanding job that includes both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather and temperature environments. This job can be physically strenuous (demanding) from time to time. You will be expected to be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift, grip, grasp, push and pull various tools and equipment. You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 10-20 kilo''s and occasionally more. This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders.
