About the role Youth Residential Recovery Service (YRR) is a strengths focused, recovery-orientated residential service that supports young people aged between 16-25 years who are experiencing mental health challenges for up to 12 months. In a safe home-like environment, the service provides clients individual and group-based supports that build resilience, develop life skills, enhance social connections, enable access to community networks and promote a greater sense of being able to make sound decisions. Young people benefit from sharing their experiences and recovery journeys whilst growing their confidence, capacity and skills to live independently in the community. We are seeking self-motivated, compassionate Community Mental Health Practitioner for a Permanent, Part Time (30.4 hours per week) opportunity in the Wodonga area. You will deliver person-centred, recovery-oriented care to support young people to build capacity and life skills, develop support networks, strengthen relationships with family and friends, live independently and achieve wellbeing goals. Key responsibilities Deliver high quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences. Support young people to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a positive future through a staged approach to recovery. Provide information and mentoring to clients to establish relationships with families and friends, create community networks and access to relevant services. Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery. Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to clients recovery goals. What youll bring Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Community Services or other professional field as designated by Mind. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of theoretical approaches, practices and appropriate service responses including family inclusive practice, trauma informed theory, cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing and harm reduction therapy. Expertise in working with young people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers. Relevant experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health. Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
