You will work in one of the worlds most iconic mining districts, which has the second highest grade copper mine in the country.Reporting to the Health, Safety & Emergency Superintendent, you will be responsible for offering leadership, coaching, and compliance advice on operational safety and risk processes.You will be a driving force in upholding our already exceptional safety culture, leading & encouraging our staff to participate in all facets of safety initiatives.This is certainly not a desk-bound job; we need someone who will actively engage with our workforce, connecting with employees at all levels to drive positive change in our safety culture. You will be passionate about creating a safer work environment, and take a hands-on approach with our workforce.About the Role: Responsibilities Drive the development and implementation of pragmatic and productive safety initiatives in consultation with site leadership and management teams Conduct incident investigations and risk assessments as required Monitor compliance of safety systems and procedures through auditing, inspections and observations Keep up to date with legislative changes and recommend actions to ensure compliance is maintained Analyse safety performance and drive a safety culture by developing frontline leaders in and safety Coach supervisors, operators and safety personnel in the application of safety systems & procedures Leading by example, setting clear expectations, reviewing work regularly and providing meaningful feedback Qualifications Certificate IV WHS or equivalent Current Australian Manual Drivers Licence Experience in industrial/mining safety environment (desirable) Underground mining experience (desirable) Working knowledge of WHS legislation Exceptional time management and computer skills About you You will be a passionate and dedicated safety professional with a proven track record of creating and implementing effective safety programs to ensure a secure and compliant work environment. You will have a strong foundation in risk assessment, hazard identification, and regulatory compliance, and bring a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety within our business. Leveraging your excellent communication skills, you will mitigate risks, enhance workplace well-being, and contribute to the overall success of the business by promoting a safety-first mindset. Conditions Drive-in drive out (DIDO) or fly-in-fly out (FIFO) from Sydney or Brisbane can also be discussed. Candidates interested in DIDO or FIFO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependents. Location Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions. Entertainment options include restaurants, pubs, and clubs for dining out. You will be kept busy with a bowling and golf club, rugby and rugby league teams, race club, pony club, Olympic size swimming pool, gym and more! The town boasts beautiful parks, two reservoirs, picnic areas and playgrounds.
