Penalty rates apply for weekend work.About the roleThe Reception Officer will serve as a key contributor to our Leisure and Aquatic Centres, ensuring high-quality customer service as the initial contact for visitors. This role involves delivering accurate information, managing entry fees, and assisting with daily administrative tasks.In this fast-paced environment, you will engage with both new and existing customers, promoting our programs and memberships while maintaining a tidy and welcoming reception area.This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.Successful applicants will be employed on a casual day-to-day basis. Shifts are available at Lake Haven Recreation Centre, Peninsula Leisure Centre, Gosford Olympic Pool, Toukley Aquatic Centre and Wyong Olympic Pool, with working across multiple sites possible.Shifts will be available Monday to Sunday, between the hours of 4:45am and 10pm. Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts.Key activities of this role include:Provide up-to-date and accurate information about centre facilities, service and programs to new and existing centre users, both in person and over the telephoneExplain the features and benefits of the centre programs and memberships to prospective new customersSupervise public entry and collect entry fees in accordance with centre and Council administrative and financial proceduresAccurately process membership and enrolment applications and follow guidelines on the sale of memberships and enrolmentsAssist with daily administration duties, including banking, word processing, mail outs, publicity distribution, and collection of forms and photocopying as requiredExtensive experience in cash handling and point of sale operationsProven track record in a fast-paced customer service roleFamiliarity with computerised member/customer management systemsDemonstrated ability to embrace changeIt is the responsibility of successful applicants to undertake a course of Hepatitis B and Tetanus vaccinations or to demonstrate their immunity prior to commencement of employment.Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.Central Coast Council is committed to the goals of equal opportunity employment.
