About This Opportunity Our Loui''s Van volunteers help provide food, essential items and information to those in need and experiencing homelessness within our community. Some of the specific tasks for our van volunteers include the following: Responsibilities Distributing food, drinks, clothing and other essential items to those in need. Provide support and assistance to those experiencing homelessness, including providing information on support services where applicable. Having a friendly chat with those accessing the service, with kindness and empathy. Assisting with the setup and pack down of Loui''s Van. Driving the vans (if you wish to be a driver). Optional responsibility of becoming a Team Leader. Requirements National Police Certificate Driver''s Licence (C) Working with Vulnerable People Check Additional Requirements For this role, we require our Society compliance to be completed, as well as: National Police Check, Working with Vulnerable People Registration, Safe Food Handling Certificate. Please note a Driver''s License is only required if wishing to be a driver of the vans. Details Organisation: St Vincent de Paul Society Tasmania Location: Glenorchy TAS Time required: Regular - more than 6 months Days: Weekdays, Weekends Times: Evenings Our Loui''s Vans run Sunday-Thursday every week. Depending on the van run, the approximate times are between 5:30-9pm. Rosters are done in teams, and each team goes out on one run per month.
