For over 70 years, we have been empowering ageing Australians to lead their most meaningful lives by recognising old age as a positive force in society and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell the tale.We are currently seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Waters Aged Care Home located in Port Kennedy. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Waters is one of our larger sites with 160 beds and provides support for people who need 24 hour care, including those with high care needs and dementia.To be successful in this role, you will have experience in cleaning ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment, and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.The successful applicant will form part of our casual pool who provide relief across both morning and afternoon shifts, as well as on weekends and public holidays. You may also have the opportunity to be trained in and work across the roles of Kitchen Hand and Laundry Assistant.About YouPrevious experience working as a Domestic Assistant / Cleaner, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environmentHave a can do attitude and a genuine compassion for our residentsReliable with a strong work ethicAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamWillingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie GroupWillingness to obtain relevant vaccinationsCurrent NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply for one)ResponsibilitiesEnsuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidyEnsuring supplies are stocked across the facilityLiaising with other employees to ensure the needs of our residents are metEnsuring residents'' personal clothing is individually labelled and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mendingWorking with BethanieMany of us work because we want to make a difference.
