THIS IS A PERMANENT, FULL-TIME POSITION THIS POSITION IS BASED IN KENSINGTON (PERTH) OR BUNBURY APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION CLOSE AT MIDDAY ON MONDAY, 17 NOVEMBER 2025 Job Description Responsibilities Maintains and coordinates the development/review of the departments bushfire risk management framework, regional fuel management plans and prescribed burning programs, and supports regions to implement. Applies best practice to fire management planning and provides sound advice and recommendations for fire planning processes, approaches, systems and technology used in the department, having regard for the departments fire management responsibilities. Measures, assesses and reviews annual prescribed burning program achievements and reports on outcomes versus planned performance measures/indicators. Coordinates the departments response on fire planning-related matters and engages in inter-agency liaison as required. Ensures fire behaviour analysis capabilities are maintained within the department. In this role, you will be Leading Others to help drive positive change. Selection Criteria Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria in no more than four (4) pages in total. Substantial relevant experience in natural area fire management and the development of operational plans for bushfire risk mitigation, and in applying legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures to fire management issues Evidence of high level interpersonal and oral communication skills and considerable experience in effective liaison. Evidence of well-developed written communication skills, including the ability to use computer software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to prepare reports and make effective presentations to senior management. Demonstrated understanding and effective application of risk and project management principles.
