Centre Cook Bass Valley Uniting Early Learning About the Opportunity As the Cook at Bass Valley Uniting Early Learning, youll play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the children in our care. Youll work collaboratively with our educators, children and families to develop and implement the centres food safety program and healthy eating policy, recognising the vital link between nutrition and childrens growth, development and learning. Youll be responsible for planning menus, managing the food budget, ordering supplies, shopping, preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks that meet the diverse dietary, medical and cultural needs of our children. In this hands-on role, youll oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained at all times in line with regulations and Nutrition Australia Dietary Guidelines. As part of our team, youll also contribute to the centres philosophy and commitment to continuous improvement, helping create a nurturing, safe and high-quality environment for every child. About you Youll be a passionate and organised Cook who takes pride in preparing healthy, nutritious meals for children. To succeed in this role, youll have: A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential) A Trade Cook Certificate III (desirable but not essential) Sound knowledge of food safety standards and accurate record keeping Proven experience in planning and preparing balanced meals and snacks for young children Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet use Your enthusiasm for nutritious food and your attention to detail will help you create a positive mealtime experience that supports childrens wellbeing and development.
