About the roleThe Laboratory Technician will play a crucial role in conducting analyses on water and wastewater. This position is vital for monitoring and protecting the Central Coast community and the environment. You will ensure compliance with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, EPA Licence conditions, and ANZECC and other regulatory guidelines. In addition to performing analyses, the Technician will maintain laboratory operations, assist in training staff, and contribute to quality assurance processes. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will create value for the community. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.Casual position details: up to 35 hours per week. Ensure compliance with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and EPA licence conditions Maintain laboratory standards, equipment, and operational integrity To be successful in this role you will have a Degree qualification in Environmental, Chemistry or Natural Science or related field OR extensive contemporary experience in conducting analysis on water and wastewater, combined with ongoing professional development a valid Construction General Induction Card - NSW SafeWork or equivalent experience in the collection, storage, preservation and routine analysis on samples of water and wastewater in accordance with accepted industry standards experience in a laboratory testing environment including methods for ensuring consistency and adherence to industry standards Current Class C Driver1s Licence (if applicable) Location: Charmhaven Treatment Plant Salary and terms $52.84 per hour to $63.52 per hour (includes 25% casual loading) + 12% superannuation Casual role available Location Central Coast Council is ideally located on the northern fringe of Sydney and just an hour''s drive from Newcastle.
