You might be kind-of new to the community and youth services sector but comfortable in driving a 12-seater van. Youll spend the first few days learning the ropes. Dont stress, youll have a great mentor to work with. To start youll assist your EEAI Coordinator with logistics while establishing relationships with students and their families. Once youve settled in, youll then take ownership of some school attendance pick ups and drop offs, support students to have positive educational experiences at school (and outside of school) and help families be the centre of their childrens education.Youll be great in this role if youGet a buzz when making a meaningful and positive impact with young people and familiesHave excellent people skills with the ability to relate with students, parents, teachers, community leaders & external agenciesHold a strong indigenous cultural awareness and knowledge of local culturesHave a knack for bringing people together and fostering positive relationships between stakeholdersPrevious experience and/or confidence in driving a 12-seater van safelyHold an Australian drivers licence (WA C class or equivalent)Can obtain a National Police Certificate and Working with Children cardIf youve worked with and enjoy engaging with culturally diverse young people including Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders, we would welcome your application.At the Y WA, we thrive on feedback and deeply value our peoples insights that drive positive change.
