Department of HealthHospitals & Primary Care - Hospitals NthPrimary Health NorthApplications must be submitted by Tuesday 11 November, 2025 11:55 PMTuesday 11 November, 2025 11:55 PM AESTAward/Classification:Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award, Registered Nurse, Grade 6$114,851 to $121,886 pro rata, per annumEmployment type:Permanent, part-timeRegion:NorthLocation:Allambi Bld, 33-39 Howick StThe role of the Clinical Nurse Educator is to facilitate and support the development of the Primary Health North workforce by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating education programs in the clinical setting of primary health rural and remote services.The Team:Launceston Community Nursing Service (LCNS) operates within the Primary Health - North framework to deliver community nursing to Tasmanians living in Launceston and its surrounds by encouraging and supporting client independence and facilitating shorter hospital stays. We pride ourselves on our compassion and respect for our clients, utilising wellness and reablement strategies and trauma-informed nursing to further develop our clients'' health and wellbeing. LCNS works collaboratively with other health care providers to plan and deliver the required nursing care to support clients to remain at home and to minimise hospital presentations and admissions. LCNS offers accessible care from a community clinic as well as home visits for clients unable to attend the clinic. The Service operates from 0800hrs until 2130hrs every day (including public holidays and weekends). Some of the services provided by LCNS include wound management, palliative care (often collaborating with the Specialist Palliative Care Service team), elastomeric infusion device management, continence, catheter and stoma education and management, short term medication management (including subcutaneous and intravenous medications), post operative and PleurX drain management, CVAD and TiVAD management.The Role:The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) plays a pivotal role in promoting and supporting safe, accessible, and person-centred nursing care through the provision of essential education, training, and clinical development of Primary Health - North Community Registered Nurses and Health Care Assistants working across district hospitals, aged care facilities and community health services. The CNE ensures that all clinical care practices align with the Aged Care Quality Standards, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional excellence, and patient safety. Through evidence-based education, mentoring, and coaching, the CNE supports workforce development by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education programs to maintain high standards of care, strengthen clinical competencies, and effectively meet the complex needs of both aging populations and rural communities. As part of the LCNS leadership team, the CNE works collaboratively to contribute to the organisations Quality & Safety, and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives and safeguarding practices for vulnerable people. As a successful CNE you will:Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate nursing education programs and activities in the clinical setting, including core and mandatory programs, in collaboration with site and service managers, internal and external education providers and coordinators as required.Facilitate ongoing professional development within a learning and research culture, promoting patient centred inter-professional learning, including where delegated to contribute to relevant groups and committees.Ensure the maintenance of records in accordance with organisational policy and program requirements.Consult and liaise with the site or service managers to provide educational support and evaluation in relation to staff performance development plans.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Details of appointment:Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to40 hours per fortnight, commencing from 11 January 2026*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary:$114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata).
