About the Position We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive retail professional who can work in a diverse environment, supervise and train volunteers and work with a supportive upper management structure to be the best Shop Manager they can be! Located in the heart of Murwillumbahs bustling commercial precinct, our vibrant Op Shop offers an eclectic range of goods. You''ll find fashion for men, women, children, and sports enthusiasts, along with a wide selection of homewares, manchester (bedding and linens), books, movies, toys, electrical items, and furniture. With its prime location and diverse range of products, this shop has the potential to become the leading opportunity shop in this popular and stylish part of Murwillumbah. This is a permanent full-time position working a 38-hour week. Working within a monthly roster of one Saturday and one Sunday (not consecutively) per month. Hourly rate and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Award Level 6 and will include weekend penalty rates. Responsibilities As the Shop Manager, you will: Engage customers with friendly and helpful service and lead stock selection, merchandising, and pricing to grow sales and fund frontline services. Motivate and manage a diverse team of predominantly volunteers, creating a welcoming environment while maintaining high Work Health & Safety compliance. Develop and implement ideas to make op-shopping exciting and sustainable; manage the shop budget to maximise funds for frontline services. Attract, train, and lead your shop team; report to the Area Manager on performance and progress. Qualifications and Skills Significant experience in retail management and processes, including customer service, merchandising, staffing, and maximising sales and revenue. Track record of managing shop budgets through proactive revenue growth and cost efficiencies with a continuous improvement mindset. Ability to build an effective team by leading and managing volunteers; define clear roles and monitor performance against objectives. Active participation in initiatives to maintain a diverse, positive, and collaborative workplace. Provide support, guidance and leadership, including regular feedback and supervision. Promote a positive Work Health & Safety culture by identifying hazards and implementing preventive measures to ensure a safe environment. Report health and safety hazards, incidents, and injuries to line management per policy and procedure. Complete mandatory e-Learning modules relevant to the role and ensure team training is up to date. Declare any potential or actual conflict of interest encountered during engagement.
