Overview Workways Australia Ltd is a not-for-profit charitable organisation with presence across the eastern seaboard of Australia, providing environmental and employment services. In addition to delivering on government funded contracts, such as Workforce Australia and Transition to Work, Workways creates environmental impacts via bush regeneration and habitat restoration services under the brand Envite. The organisation is seeking applications for the Non-Executive Director position from individuals with expertise and connections within the environmental services industry. Responsibilities The Non-Executive Director is expected to contribute to the duties and obligations of the Board. A strong understanding of corporate governance including legal, ethical, fiduciary and financial responsibilities is essential. The Board operates predominantly in an online environment, with face-to-face meetings in Queensland or Victoria at least twice per year. There are six board meetings annually, and the successful Director may be required to sit on a sub-committee which meets online four times per year. Additional meetings may be scheduled based on organisational priorities. The commitment on average is 10 hours per month. Remuneration The Non-Executive Director position is remunerated. Qualifications and Requirements Non-Executive Directors are required to complete a National Police History Check, Financial Check, and Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check. The successful appointee will also be required to evidence their Right to Work in Australia and applicable qualifications held.
