With the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games on the horizon, the region is set to take centre stage and our Board will help steer this exciting journey.In 2024, QCT launched a new Destination Management Plan (DMP) and refreshed brand, laying out a clear vision for sustainable tourism growth through to 2032, aligning with and contributing to the states broader Destination 2045 strategy. This is a rare opportunity to influence how Queensland Country contributes to the states goal of becoming a world leader in sustainable tourism.Who Were Looking ForWe are seeking forward-thinking, values-aligned leaders and are particularly seeking those with skills in one or more of the following areas:Commercial strategy and sponsorshipPeople leadership & human resourcesLegalFinanceRisk and complianceEngagement with diverse communities including First Nations, culturally and linguistically diverse, people with disabilityGovernanceSkills in the following areas would also be highly regarded:Tourism, events, or regional developmentMarketing, digital, or customer experienceSustainabilityPrevious board or committee experience is desirable but not essential. If you bring diverse perspectives, strategic insight, and a strong sense of purpose and passion for shaping the future of tourism in our region, we want to hear from you.About the QCT BoardThe QCT Board is a skills-based, non-executive governance body made up of professionals from across industry, government, and business. The Board champions an inclusive, accessible, and diverse culture, reflecting the communities we serve. It provides strategic oversight and ensures that QCT is delivering on its key objectives:Drive visitation to Queensland CountryStrengthen regional economies and community wellbeingFoster community engagement and pridePromote Queensland Country as a vibrant, sustainable destinationThe Board meets 6 to 8 times annually, with a mix of in-person meetings across the region and virtual sessions.
