About the Role Based within FHMRI, the Associate Professor (Research) will lead and contribute to highimpact research in strategically important areas aligned with MRFF and NHMRC priorities. The candidate will shape research strategy, secure external funding, build international recognition, and foster a vibrant research culture. Strategic Research Areas Primary care and general practice Dementia prevention and behavioural risk reduction Implementation science Genomics Stem cell therapies Mental health Cardiovascular disease Indigenous health Qualifications & Experience Completion of a PhD in health sciences, medicine, public health, or science/engineering with a medical focus. Successful attraction of several competitive external grants or fellowships, demonstrating leadership as the principal investigator (e.g., MRFF, NHMRC, ARC). Significant experience in senior academic or research leadership with relevant project management and leading a large team. High level of understanding of intellectual property and the commercialisation process in a research environment. Leadership skills, including the ability to establish and contribute effectively to leadership within the College, to students, and to industry nationally and internationally.
