ARDS has been working in Northeast Arnhem Land for nearly 50 years, putting Yolngu languages, perspectives, skills and decisionmaking at the centre of its work. ARDS aims to bridge the gap between mainstream services and information, and the information and service delivery approaches that Yolngu communities want and need. About the Opportunity Note: This position has the option to be based in either Darwin or Nhulunbuy As the Staff Training and Development Lead, you will play a key role in building the capacity of ARDS Yolngu and Balanda staff across Northeast Arnhem Land. You will support new starters through their induction, helping them understand ARDS systems, processes and expectations, while identifying their training needs and learning goals. You ll design and deliver tailored training programs that support work readiness, literacy, numeracy, digital skills, and professional development. Working closely with ARDS Dj gamirr (managers) and project leads, youll help shape a culture of growth and learning, ensuring staff have access to the tools, resources and mentoring they need to succeed. Whether youre based in Darwin or Nhulunbuy, this role will involve travelling to different communities in Northeast Arnhem Land where ARDS teams are based. It is a handson, peoplefocused role that will allow you to make a meaningful impact on the lives and careers of ARDS staff. About You You are someone who is passionate about supporting others to learn and grow. You have experience designing and delivering training or coaching programs, particularly for First Nations audiences, and you understand how to adapt your approach to suit different learning styles and levels of confidence. Youre a skilled communicator and facilitator, able to build trust and convey complex ideas in simple, accessible ways. Youre proactive, organised and flexible, with a strong commitment to working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal people. Youre comfortable working in multilingual environments and are willing to learn Yolngu Matha and its cultural context. You bring a collaborative spirit and a genuine interest in helping others succeed, whether through oneonone mentoring or group workshops.
