Senior Housing Officer - Remote Communities The Mount Isa Housing Service Centre is on the lookout for passionate individuals to join their Remote Communities Team. This team plays a vital role in managing tenancies in Doomadgee and Mornington Island, operating through a FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) model from Mount Isa. This role has a mandatory requirement that candidates must be able to travel on a fortnightly basis; it is not a role for someone who does not have this capacity. What You Will Do Tenancy management within each community including rental arrears management and property related tasks Engage and collaborate with stakeholders and support services to deliver effective assistance to customers Administrative tasks including vehicle booking, setting itineraries for outreach, workplace health and safety checks, data processing and maintaining electronic filing system Managing housing allocations Mandatory requirement for travel every two weeks to Doomadgee and Mornington Island (Monday to Friday) What We Are Looking For A candidate with a strong understanding of the cultural dynamics within remote communities and an appreciation for the importance of incorporating this knowledge into decisionmaking processes The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working collaboratively with First Nations peoples, showcasing cultural sensitivity and respect in their approach Solid computer knowledge and skills, with an ability to quickly learn new systems and processes A strong team player who works effectively within a team, Housing Service Centre and stakeholders A strong ability to understand and support others, particularly in sensitive or challenging situations What You Will Get An opportunity to make a real difference in peoples lives Enjoy a lifelong career with plenty of room to grow and develop Be a part of a team that fosters positive work culture, embraces innovation and celebrates both work and personal achievements An opportunity to travel some amazing landscapes and see the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets A generous travel allowance payable when travelling 5 weeks leave per annum Access the Regional and Remote Incentive payments after working here for 6 months Extensive training will be provided via mandatory online training as well as peer support.
