Gallery Technician Latrobe City Council Position: Gallery Technician (Parttime, 24 hours per week) Location: Morwell Latrobe Regional Gallery Band 3 Salary Range: $34.47 $36.91 per hour plus 12% superannuation About the Role: As a Gallery Technician you will assist with the production of exhibitions to a high standard of presentation appropriate to a public gallery. You will also be responsible for providing operational support across a range of functions including art handling, collection management, audiovisual production, and general maintenance. Provide operational support across a range of functions including art handling, collection management, audiovisual production, and general maintenance. Qualifications and Skills Knowledge of established art handling and conservation methods and practices, or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. Experience with audiovisual installation, lighting and video projection, or ability to quickly acquire this knowledge. Understanding of contemporary exhibition presentation. Practical skills in general maintenance, carpentry, painting, plastering and minor repairs, or a general aptitude to acquire these skills with appropriate training. Practical skills in collection management, including the maintenance of registration records as required. Required Skills/Experience White card induction and working safely at heights, or ability to acquire this training upon appointment. General carpentry skills will be highly regarded.
