Join to apply for the Cleaner - Ashgrove State School role at Queensland Department of Education. Ashgrove State School is seeking an energetic, honest and reliable person to join our cleaning team. As a cleaner you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school site by providing a high level of cleaning support. The successful candidate will need to work split shifts. The shifts will be Monday to Friday, morning shift 5:00am to 9:00am and afternoon shifts 2:30pm to 6:00pm. About the Role Your role as a cleaner includes a mix of the following activities. You may be required to undertake other activities relevant to the nature and classification level of a cleaner. Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards. Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays. Cleaning and maintaining equipment. Cobweb and mildew control, utilising extendable equipment as necessary. Cleaning of concrete, bitumen, asphalt and paved surfaces. Disposal of rubbish and litter control, including removal of material from drains and gutters between and/or surrounding buildings. Dusting, including student and office furniture, equipment and fans. Removal of graffiti. Please view the Role Description for a full list of responsibilities. About You The following skills and attributes are required for the position: A team member able to perform under direction, manage multiple tasks, prioritise work demands and meet deadlines. Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of departmental cleaning policies, practices and procedures used in schools. A CertificateIII in Cleaning Operations is an advantage but not a necessity.
