We are currently recruiting for Residential Youth Support Workers to join our Short-Term Emergency Placement and MyLaunchPad Team. The Short-Term Emergency Residential Care program and MyLaunchPad program are both based in Northwest Tasmania (between Latrobe and Burnie), designed for young people who are unable to be placed through standard placement avenues such as foster care, specialist care, or other residential contracted services. These are handson Permanent Part-Time or Casual positions, with most time spent in the house or participating in recreational activities. The role involves working directly with children and young people in a 24/7 residential setting with fortnightly rotating shift rosters. The program prioritises the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, offering a predictable, homelike environment that is culturally safe and responsive. Suitable applicants will be asked to attend an information session and interview, held inperson at the Penguin Surf Life Saving Club on 17th November 2025. Key Responsibilities Provide daytoday care, supervision and transport to children and young people Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people Form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships Develop, implement and monitor individual plans Actively support the child/young person to develop and maintain social skills Maintain progress notes and report writing Skills & Experience Certificate 4 in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, or other relevant qualification is highly preferred but not required. A current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to complete prior to commencement. Ability to work various shifts (sleepover and active nights) throughout the week. Experience working with children, youth and/or families within a residential setting. Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Vulnerable People check.
