Role Summary The Cook is responsible for delivering high-quality meals tailored to residents'' dietary needs, preferences, and health requirements. Reporting to the Chef, the role involves preparing nutritious and delicious meals while maintaining compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve nutritious, appetizing meals. Engage with residents to understand and cater to their dietary preferences and needs. Participate in menu planning and discussions, ensuring meals are aligned with the Australian dietary guidelines for older adults. Ensure compliance with food safety standards (HACCP) and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the catering team to deliver safe and high-quality food services. Manage special diets, including texturemodified meals, in accordance with best practices. Monitor food costs to stay within budget. What you''ll bring Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery. Current and acceptable Police Certificate. Ability to work collaboratively with the team and engage positively with residents. Compassion and empathy. Unlimited working rights in Australia MANDATORY. Hospitality experience in an Aged Care setting or fastpaced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. An understanding of resident rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes (highly regarded but not essential). Benefits $28.96 - $29.94 per hour (based on experience) + penalties + 12% superannuation + 17.5% leave loading.
