Then why not join the team at Lithgow City Council Libraries as the Child and Youth Services Librarian. Reporting to the Library Coordinator, the Child and Youth Services Librarian is a Temporary up to 12 month maternity relief full-time contract role within Lithgow City Council Libraries. The position is 35 hours per week, with a rostered day off in a two-week cycle. The spread of hours ranges from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday and participates in a rotating roster to cover 9:00am to 12:00pm on Saturdays, approximately one per month additionally. In this role you will support Council''s vision and leadership in the delivery of high-quality collections, services and programmes for children and young adults. You will engage and partner with relevant Council departments as well as local community organisations to broaden capacity and deliver enhanced programmes that are vibrant and relevant to the needs of our children and young people. About you To be successful in this role you will be passionate and energetic about supporting children and youth with knowledge of best practice, current trends, and issues. You will have demonstrated knowledge of collection development and management of childrens and young adult collections as well as knowledge in the development and implementation of library programmes targeting these groups. You will bring exceptional communication, interpersonal and high-level organisational skills. It is also important to have the ability to think critically and analytically along with very good written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate must have a degree level qualification in either Library and Information Science, Early Childhood or K-12 Teaching or working towards these qualifications. You would have at least 2 years experience working in Child or Youth Library Work and hold a current Working with Children Check. What do librarians who serve children do? They...
