Job Description

The Role Join our team as Senior Gardener Handyperson and contribute to fostering a positive learning environment! As a key member, you''ll be instrumental in maintaining the school grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive environment for both students and staff. From overseeing the turf areas, garden beds and shrubs to managing hard landscaping features like courts and tiered limestone seating areas, you will play a vital role in creating an inviting and inspiring outdoor space. Your commitment to maintaining gardening facilities, equipment and tools will be integral to promoting a positive culture within the school. You will collaborate with the Manager Corporate Services and the Facilities Coordinator to develop safe work procedures, undertake risk assessments and ensure compliance with occupational safety and health legislation. Suitable applicants should have effective communication skills to help develop and maintain good working relationships with school staff and external stakeholders. Responsibilities Maintain all school grounds, ensuring safety, tidiness and a conducive learning environment. Oversee and maintain turf areas, garden beds, shrubs and hard landscaping such as courts and tiered limestone seating. Maintain gardening facilities, equipment and tools in good condition. Collaborate with management to develop safe work procedures, undertake risk assessments and comply with OSH legislation. Manage and supervise at least two gardening staff.
