Girton Grammar School is seeking an engaging Math Teacher to develop and deliver high-quality lessons and to maintain and build on our academic success. This parttime, ongoing teaching position starts in January 2026. Responsibilities Teach Math from Year7 through to VCE, inspiring students to develop a passion for the subject and strong numeracy and analytical skills. Engage students in critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, fostering a deep appreciation of mathematics and its relevance beyond the classroom. Contribute to the ongoing refinement and delivery of a rigorous, evidenceinformed curriculum grounded in the Science of Learning. Provide lowvariance, datainformed instruction with a strong emphasis on explicit teaching practices that promote deep understanding and sustained success. Assist in designing and implementing a robust Math curriculum that integrates Cognitive Load Theory, Explicit Instruction, and the Science of Learning. Why Join Us? Key Selection Criteria / Essential Qualifications and Skills Appropriate qualification and current registration as a teacher. A passion for teaching Math in Years712, with proven ability to write and deliver an outstanding Math curriculum. An understanding of and commitment to the principles of the Science of Learning and Explicit Instruction. Demonstrated effective delivery of teaching and learning programmes. Commitment to professional development. Excellent personal communication, administrative and organisational skills. Commitment to student wellbeing and child safety, with an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children, including those with diverse needs and backgrounds. Strong skills in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) as they relate to teaching and learning. Commitment to cocurricular activities.
