About the Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join a large and dynamic occupational therapy department for the provision of clinical governance, leadership and expertise within the Cancer Care Team, under the responsibility of an Occupational Therapist Team Leader. A Day In The Life Responsible for providing evidencebased, innovative and practical solutions to support the patient journey through a busy tertiary acute hospital, you will work closely with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve patientgoals as part of their endoflife care planning. You will be using your excellent organisational and communication skills to manage your day and provide uptodate information about your patients to various stakeholders. Your knowledge and skills will continuously improve through the various learning opportunities and clinical expert clinicians in the department. Where You''ll Be Working Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for southwestern Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of statewide services such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation. It has 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care. Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment: the $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney. It is a principal referral and teaching hospital of UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University and welcoming students from over 20 universities and colleges. Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries. Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services for a wide range of medical and surgical clinical caseloads, including palliative care in an acute setting. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills. Demonstrated experience participating in service evaluation incorporating the quality improvement process.
