We''re proud to be delivering the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), and we''re looking for the best people to help make it happen. QTMP involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains to support Cross River Rail and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. These trains will be built at a new, purpose-built facility in Torbanlea on the Fraser Coast. This is your chance to be part of an industry leading, world class project. The role at a glance In this role, you will be responsible for the precision assembly of key railcar components, contributing directly to the production of world-class rollingstock. Key Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble major railcar structure: underframes, side walls, carbodies and bogie frames. Operate materials handling equipment safely and efficiently to support fabrication tasks. Follow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to ensure high-quality, compliant assembly. Work with the team to hit production targets while focusing on safety, quality, and improvement. About you Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industry best practices Ability to perform fabrication tasks including forming, bending, and shaping of metal components Proficient in welding techniques including: Manual Metal Arc (MMA) Gas Metal Arc (GMAW/MIG) Manual production welding Advanced and automated thermal cutting, gouging, and shaping Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) to code standards Please note: There are gate start roles.
