Forensic Drug & Alcohol Clinician NSW Health Location: Nepean Hospital, Nepean / Blue Mountains, NSW. Employment Type: Temporary Full Time or Part Time (up to 30/06/2026). Hours per Week: up to 38. Social Worker, Counsellor or Occupational Therapist Level1/2: $37.03 $52.83 per hour Registered Nurse: $37.48 $52.62 per hour Psychologist: $39.01 $57.10 per hour About Us Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, providing a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains and Lithgow region. The NBMLHD Alcohol and Other Drugs service offers free, nonjudgemental services and treatments for drug and alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service provides specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the clients right to choose from a range of treatments, underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction. In this rewarding role you will deliver evidencebased drug and alcohol assessments, provide tailored case management and offer therapeutic counselling to patients engaged in the MERIT and Drug Court programmes. Your expertise will support individuals on their journey toward recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration, while contributing to a service that values compassion, integrity and excellence in care. Benefits Available to eligible NBMLHD employees Accrued Day Off (ADO) for Full Time employees Opportunity for extra tax savings through Salary Packaging Novated Leasing Great education opportunities through the Education Training Service (over 110 courses each year) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and family members Fitness Passport What you will bring to the role Tertiary qualifications, professional registration or membership in one of the following areas: Occupational Therapy (Bachelor Degree & AHPRA registration), Counselling (ACA L34 or PACFA registration), Social Work (Australian Association of Social Workers membership), Psychologist (Psychology Board registration) or Registered Nurse (AHPRA registration). Demonstrated clinical experience in a drug and alcohol treatment setting and provision of evidencebased interventions for clients. Ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Local Health District services, the Criminal Justice System and communitybased support services. Capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team providing services to courtmandated clients. High quality computer literacy, written and verbal communication, including preparation of court reports and clinical notes. Experience or commitment to working with individuals and families from Indigenous backgrounds and/or diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Current drivers licence and willingness to travel for work purposes. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
