An exciting Leadership opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead the Accident & Emergency Department at Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will provide Clinical and Operational leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality emergency care to the Blue Mountains community. You will lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team, promote a positive workplace culture, and drive excellence in patient outcomes within a dynamic regional hospital setting. Located in the heart of Katoomba, our hospital is a vital part of the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD). The hospital provides a range of acute and subacute services, with a strong focus on community-based, patient-centred care. The Emergency Department provides 24-hour access to emergency care for adults and children, supported by experienced clinicians and strong links with Nepean Hospital for specialist and tertiary services. This position will see you provide professional and operational leadership for the Emergency Department Nursing team. You will ensure the provision of safe, effective and evidence-based care aligned with NSW Health standards, manage staff performance, education and workforce planning. You will be a dynamic and experienced Nurse leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who can demonstrate strong clinical expertise, advanced communication skills and a passion for supporting staff to achieve their best. What You Will Bring To The Role Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) AND extensive relevant post registration nursing experience. Demonstrated ability to create and support a culture of integrity and professionalism which adheres to legislation and policy. Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit/ward are managed to deliver safe and efficient health care within available resources. Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and organizational goals utilising change management principles. Evidence of and commitment to patient/client/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation, Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
