We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes with one purpose in mind to help young people live their healthiest lives.What You''ll Be DoingThe Non-Emergency Transport Nurse (Registered Nurse) is responsible for safe inter-hospital transfer of newborns and infants from Neonatal Intensive Care Units or Special Care Nurseries in the Greater Sydney Metropolitan area to an appropriate hospital closer to the patients home. In addition, an inpatient within the scope of this service may require a specialist appointment at a tertiary neonatal facility and will be transported by the Non-Emergency Transport Nurse for the appointment and back to the patients local health care facility. The Non-Emergency Transport Nurse must deliver the highest quality care to the patient and their families.The care that is delivered should be individual and continually reviewed. The Non-Emergency Transport Nurse should be an active clinical resource person contributing towards continuing education for staff and self, as well as acting as an advocate for the patient and their families. Other key functions of this position include clinical coordination, scheduling, completion of organization specific mandatory and relevant training.
