Job Description

Accountable for the laying, cutting, stamping and sorting of outwork on a large scale for multiple production linesAccountable for overseeing a department with a staff compliment of over 100 employeesAccountable for Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling of assets and staffManagement of constant flow of fabricEnsuring Caledon factory production lines are fed timeously with correct componentsAccountable for managing automated and manual cutting technologyResponsible for planning the Cutting Room Workflow on a daily, bi weekly and 2-month planAccountable to review continuous assessments relating to cost reduction initiatives: IE Waste ManagementEnsuring quality standards are met in accordance with Standard Order of ProcessOptimization of Fabric UtilizationAccountable for the review and sign off on job reconciliationsMaintaining Reject, Rework and Recut rateEmployee Relations - Ensure general discipline is maintained according to TFG Policy and ProceduresDaily reporting of absence counts to Caledon HR DepartmentEnsure good housekeeping is maintainedEnsure the department is in line with Health and Safety regulationsImplementation of individual development plans and identifying training needsAttendance and coordination of daily Cutting Room team meetingsQualifications and Experience:5 years + Clothing Manufacturing experience (Essential)Grade 12National Diploma or Degree in Fabric Technology or similar (Advantageous)Experience with style man and fast react (Advantageous)Skills:Proficient in Microsoft OfficeManagement Experience (Essential)Experience in cost managementKnowledge and Experience in Waste ManagementBehaviours:Ensures Accountability - takes accountability and ensures others are held to account on agreed upon performance targetsManages Complexity - interprets and simplifies complex and contradictory information when resolving organisational problemsPlans and Aligns - develops plans and prioritises initiatives that align to the organisational goals and objectivesPreference will be given,but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity ActAbout UsWho we are is because of our people.
