As a key member of the NMH Project Team, you will lead all technical, design, and coordination aspects of this landmark development through every stage from planning and design to documentation, construction, and commissioning. This is a rare opportunity to play a central role in shaping a world-class hospital that will transform care for communities across Melbournes west. About the Role Reporting to the Project Director, NMH, the Design Lead will: Provide strategic and technical leadership across all phases of project development and delivery. Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring alignment with the Project Brief, service models, and operational needs. Manage consultants, stakeholders, probity, and compliance with government and VHBA requirements. Oversee design and variation reviews to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. Build effective partnerships with the Department of Health, VHBA, and the project consortium to ensure best practice outcomes. About You You are a proven leader in health infrastructure design, with the ability to translate complex service and clinical requirements into functional, future-focused design outcomes. You thrive in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment and bring: Significant experience managing design and delivery of large-scale acute hospital projects. Deep understanding of public hospital operations and governance structures. Strong background in PPP-based project delivery. Exceptional skills in stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving. The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining clarity of vision and attention to detail. A qualification in architecture, engineering, or project management combined with extensive experience in healthcare design will be highly regarded.
