We have multiple positions at various hours available for immediate appointment in Wards 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time / Part Time and Fixed-Term Full Time / Part Time appointments. Fixed-Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur until 30 June 2026. What is our Clinical Nurse role? This position, under the direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s), practises as a Clinical Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing Practice Decision Making Flowchart; provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team; upholds and functions within the core values of the organisation of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork & Integrity; acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration. OPH Ward 2 Ward 2 is a purpose-built 16-bed unit consisting of 13 stroke rehabilitation beds and 3 beds for rehabilitation medicine. This includes a specially designed room to facilitate the care needs of a bariatric patient. Ward 2 nursing staff foster a collaborative approach with all disciplines to meet patients individual rehabilitation goals. OPH Ward 3 and 4 Ward 3 is a 25-bed geriatric acute and rehabilitation unit admitting patients who require rehabilitation after an acute health episode. Ward 4 is a 30-bed geriatric acute and rehabilitation unit providing rehabilitation for older adults following an acute health episode focusing on restoring function and improving quality of life. OPH Ward 5 Ward 5 is an Acute Medical Ward with 30 beds for adults requiring medical assessment and management. Patients are admitted directly from Emergency Department or transferred from Acute Medical Ward in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH).All OPH Wards have a substantive Staff Development Nurse who support orientation, skills training and education. OPH Ward 7 Ward 7 is a 30-bed rehabilitation unit providing speciality nursing care in reconditioning post orthopaedic, amputee, renal and cancer diagnosis. Ward 7 provides opportunities for specialised nursing skills including complex wound care and peritoneal dialysis. Ward 7 is the only rehabilitation unit to provide care to under 65 years at OPH and collaborates closely with outpatient specialties including haemodialysis, radiation oncology and plastics clinic at SCGH.
