About the opportunity We are seeking a dynamic Senior Project Officer (GEMS-BEEDCompliance) to join our Project Implementation Branch.In this role you will work with representatives of the Australian Government to ensure compliance with minimum energy performance standards under the GEMS (Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards) and BEED (Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure) frameworks. Key tasks include Undertaking market surveillance and engagement activities to ensure regulated products are registered correctly and point of sale information is displayed correctly. Conducting complex research and analysis and providing expert technical advice to support the development and implementation of renewable energy projects. Evaluating program effectiveness through data collection, verification, and reporting of trends and outcomes. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with contract management and procurement frameworks and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. For further information please refer to the role statement. Project & Stakeholder Management: Strong project management skills and the ability to build effective relationships across government and industry sectors. Communication & Team Work: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven public engagement experience and ability to work in small teams. Technical Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of energy efficiency, demand management, and building performance rating systems, with experience in related programs or tools. Desirable qualifications Qualification(s) demonstrating relevant technical and/or management expertise would be advantageous. The applicant will preferably have a qualification, or willing to complete training to achieve a Certificate IV in Government Investigations in the first year of service. Remuneration ASO6 salary range $98,478 $104,165 per annum + superannuationFulltime role, working 37.5 hours per week Special Conditions This is a term contract position for up to 24 months, with the possibility of extension. Some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, will be required. A current drivers licence is essential.
