As a Governance Officer, youll play a key role in promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability across Council. Your work will help ensure our organisation continues to operate ethically and in line with community expectations. What Youll Be Doing Provide expert advice on governance, risk, insurance, complaints, privacy, and information access matters. Assess Right to Information (RTI) and Information Privacy (IP) applications and make statutory decisions. Administer Councils complaints and insurance frameworks with fairness and professionalism. Support policy development, delegations, and audit improvements to strengthen governance processes. Collaborate with teams across Council to embed best practice and drive continuous improvement. About You Youre a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a knack for navigating complex legislation and communicating clearly. You thrive on solving problems, building relationships, and helping others understand good governance. Youll bring: Experience in governance, compliance, risk, or related fields. Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Local Government or related discipline. A genuine commitment to ethical, transparent and accountable decision-making.
