Clinical Nurse Consultant - Liver & Intestinal Transplant Join to apply for the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Liver & Intestinal Transplant role at The Royal Children''s Hospital. The role is parttime ongoing (0.8 EFT, 64 hours per fortnight) within the Department of Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition, Division of Surgery at the Royal Childrens Hospital (RCH), with a possibility to increase to fulltime (80 hours per fortnight) in 2026. It supports the paediatric liver transplant program in Victoria and the sole paediatric intestinal transplant program in Australia and NewZealand. Operating at the interface of complex clinical care, national service delivery and program development, the CNC provides expert consultation, coordination and education across all stages of transplant care from assessment and national listing to longterm followup and transition to adult services. About The Role Coordination and delivery of comprehensive care for liver and intestinal transplant patients, national listings, living donor assessments and postoperative management; drive continuous quality improvement and service innovation through data benchmarking, research and development of national guidelines; provide leadership and mentorship to nursing, medical and allied health staff across RCH and referring centres; deliver state and nationallevel education and contribute to professional forums; represent RCH in national and international transplant networks; contribute to publications, presentations and research collaborations. Your Skills and Experience Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Postgraduate qualification in paediatric or critical care nursing and a Masters degree in a related discipline (or working towards). Extensive experience in paediatric hepatology, transplant or intensive care nursing. Demonstrated leadership in complex care coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration. Proven ability to contribute to service development, research and education at local and national levels. Excellent communication, organisation and decisionmaking skills, including capacity to manage and participate in afterhours oncall transplant responsibilities. About The Department The Department of Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition is a recognised centre of excellence for the management of paediatric liver disease, intestinal failure and gastrointestinal disorders. The service provides comprehensive multidisciplinary care, integrating nursing, medical and allied health expertise, and works in partnership with Austin Health and others to provide specialist transplant services to children across Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and other referring states.
