THE COMPANY Large, established Orchards Business Group seeking a highly experienced Farm Manager to lead farm operations in Shepparton VIC. Reporting to the Regional Orchard Manager, you will drive operational excellence across a large, modern property, focusing on producing high-quality fruit in a cost-effective and sustainable manner. THE RESPONSIBILITIES Lead Operations: Manage the orchard to ensure maximum yield, pack out, fruit size, and tree growth, while strictly managing costs within budget. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a large team of full-time and seasonal employees, including Assistant Farm Managers, ensuring high standards in modern orchard practices (pruning, training, harvesting). Technical Management: Oversee all ground operations, machinery, and equipment. Manage crop load, tree health, and ensure compliance with chemical handling, storage, and application regulations. Quality & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with quality assurance systems and manage all aspects of the Seasonal Worker Program. Maintenance: Implement effective preventative maintenance programs for machinery, infrastructure, and the entire property. THE REQUIREMENTS Experience working in and managing a large, modern Orchard system with a large workforce. Strong working knowledge of modern, high-density tree fruit production practices and irrigation systems. Proven ability to translate vision, manage budgets, and make quick, effective decisions. Horticultural studies, Chemical certification (or willingness to obtain), Valid manual drivers licence, Forklift licence, and Chainsaw training certificate.
