About this opportunity Scenic Rim Regional Council is seeking an Executive Manager People and Performance to lead the development and delivery of innovative people strategies that strengthen workforce capability, employee wellbeing, and organisational culture. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role provides strategic and operational leadership across Human Resources, Payroll, Work Health and Safety, and Organisational Development. The role also oversees Councils corporate performance and reporting functions, driving continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with Councils strategic direction.The position is based in Beaudesert, but you may be required to work from any of Councils offices (Boonah and Tamborine Mountain) or facilities within the Scenic Rim. Additionally, youll also Lead the People and Performance team to deliver contemporary HR, WHS, payroll, and organisational development services. Drive cultural transformation and workforce capability initiatives aligned with Councils values and strategic objectives. Oversee Councils corporate performance and reporting framework to ensure transparency and accountability. Provide expert advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Leadership Team, and Councillors on complex people, performance, and industrial relations matters. Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence across Council. About youwhat you will bring A degree in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualifications in management or business highly regarded). Extensive leadership experience in human resources, organisational development, or people strategy within a complex, multi-disciplinary environment ideally in local government or the public sector. In depth understanding of the Queensland industrial relations framework and contemporary people management practices. Demonstrated experience managing payroll operations, workforce planning, and corporate performance functions. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation. Whats in it for you?
