About the role Enerven is leading the delivery of some of the most significant energy projects in Australia, such as the 480MWh Summerfield BESS connection, the Hydrogen Jobs Plan 275kV connection, the 2.8GWh Eraring BESS, and the 500kV Goulburn River Solar Farm connection. We collaborate with utilities across Australia, partner with developers including Origin, AGL, Wartsila, Fluence, and Tesla, and provide maintenance and services for ElectraNet. We are looking for a Principal Design Consultant to take on a strategic, senior role within our engineering delivery team. This person will offer expert technical guidance, mentorship, and risk management strategies, while staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovative design solutions for Enervens highvalue, highrisk projects over $50M. You will play a key role in delivering valuedriven engineering solutions during bid development and early works, supporting the Head of Bids and Proposals and the Manager of Engineering Delivery. Your expertise in Substation Automation and Cyber Security will be a critical differentiator for Enerven in a competitive market. Key responsibilities Execution of the Enerven growth strategy by derisking strategic and major projects solutions during the tender and bid development phases. Mentoring of Senior and Junior Design Managers. Provision of a centre of excellence for the development of engineering valueadding solutions. Development and implementation of efficiency opportunities for highperformance and sustainable longterm engineering solutions. About you Enerven seeks a candidate with approximately 20years of experience in renewables, electrical infrastructure and utilities, with a strong background in concept design, tenders and bid support. The ideal person will also have expertise in Secondary Systems, Protection, SCADA and Industrial Cybersecurity, and a proven ability to deliver innovative, valueadding engineering solutions. Qualifications and experience required Degree in Engineering and Chartered Member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. Specialised crossdiscipline technical expertise within substation, transmission, BESS or wind engineering, with particular strength in protection, automation or security systems.
